PirateBay geblokkeerd in Turkije

Als het om het even welke consolidatie is, wordt niet alleen The Pirate Bay geblokkeerd. In Maart, werd YouTube verboden voor het ontvangen van video's die de stichter van modern Turkije beledigden. En de vorige maand,werd WordPress.com geblokkeerd omdat sommige van zijn gebruikers met belastering van een Turkse auteur werden belast.
Cenk, een oud gebruiker van Torrentfreak community, verklaart dat sinds vorige Maandag, de overheid de toegang tot thepiratebay.org. heeft gesloten. Nochtans, heeft de pers niets inzake de kwestie gezegd. "ik hoorde niets over thepiratebay.org geen nieuws in de krant of tv," schreef Cenk in zijn email.

Er is een komische ironie aan dit allen, gezien Turkije het huis van een aantal van de beroemdste piraten uit de geschiedenis heeft gezien, die van de kust van Barbarije.
